Bianca & Greg - Fraser Valley Wedding Photographer

This last weekend I was lucky enough to share in Bianca and Greg's big day. It was extra special because not only are they sweet and wonderful clients but many of their friends have been clients as well. There were a total of six couples that I had photographed before. Needless to say, I spent part of the reception catching up with them all. Here are a few quick picks and more to come soon.

I had a lot of fun with the details at this wedding. Can ya tell?!

Check out Bianca's dad helping tie up her dress. This was a first for me and I have to say I loved it!

Cute newborn baby, yes please! This is the darling three week old daughter of one of the bridesmaids.

I'm skipping ahead a little here but I wanted to post just a few of the bride and groom. I'll catch you up on the ceremony in the next post.

We stopped in a little place called Steveston in Richmond. Great colourful backdrops are fantastic, aren't they?! Good choice Bianca and Greg!

Next it was Deer Lake Park in Burnaby. Funky old buildings are great backdrops too! I was in heaven.

Lily & Duncan - Summer - Abbotsford Children's Photographer

I love these two beautiful children. I've had the pleasure of photographing them numerous times and I always have so much fun chasing them around. When I first started photographing them Duncan wasn't walking yet but he's up and moving almost as much as his sister.

Lily is hilarious. Here she is copying the faces I was making at her.

Duncan likes to play peek-a-boo around trees.

Sheri & Mark - Part Two - Abbotsford Wedding Photographer

Sheri and Mark chose a few great locations for their photos. I've already posted the ice rink and now here are some from Gardner Park and the wedding party.

These guys really knew how to bring the cool guy feel to the photos.

Gorgeous girls and fantastic flowers.

Next we were off to Ellwood Park/Fish Trap for some photos of the bride and groom.

Sheri and Mark know how to have a good time. They were playful and fun the entire day.

Last but not least we had a few minutes at the reception hall to capture a few images with the pretty bride and a vintage car.

We were only at the reception for a short while so here are just a few shots for you.

Stefanie's Maternity - Abbotsford Maternity Photographer

Oh my goodness did I ever had fun with this session. Stefanie contacted me for a maternity session and in her email stated "if you have been dying to try something out on somebody feel free to use me". Thank-you Stefanie! I have always wanted to do an outdoor, woodsy maternity session at a location near my home and Stefanie and her family were the perfect subjects. Here are just a few favorites. I have posted quite a few more on Facebook too.

I've photographed this cute family before so I knew I would have a lot of fun with their exquisite daughter. Isn't she darling?!

Stefanie came up with this idea and I love it.

I love this couple. They are fun, free spirited and fabulous. We headed to Campbell Valley Park, one of my favorite places to shoot, to snap a few photos to celebrate their engagement. Here are some faves.

Keeping up with this blog is almost a full time job lately. It's been a fantastic summer so far and it's not even half over. I'll do my best to keep up to date from now on.

Here are a few images from yet another gorgeous sunny Saturday wedding. Thank God for sunshine and smiling faces. They make my job even more enjoyable.

I went a little bit "old school" for the ring shot at this wedding. The flowers were to die for so I had to use them in the photo. The contrasting colours seemed perfect.

Sheri's dress was a stunning, classic gown.

Sheri herself is a classic, stunning girl too!

I love Sheri's parents. They are so joyful and full of life. You can see the love on her dad's face here.

The ceremony was held at the church I grew up in so that was special for me. Although it is quite dark, it seemed to add to the romantic mood.

These two gave me so much emotion to work with. They were constantly stealing glances and sharing thoughts. True Love, I'd say.

I really love the sand ceremony. It not only serves as a symbol of two becoming one but will also be a beautiful reminder of your special day. Here Sheri and Mark added their sand and the pastor added sand to symbolize their faith in God.

Mark works in the trucking industry so he had connections to a brand new Semi. What an awesome prop!

Sheri and Mark both skate, Sheri is a figure skater and Mark and is a hockey player, so it was fitting that we visited Center Ice for a few photos.

I absolutely love the ethereal quality at this location. Not to mention the beautiful couple.

Baby Isaiah - Abbotsford Newborn Photographer

This little boy was by far the easiest newborn baby I have ever photographed. He slept and slept. He didn't mind when I moved him this way and that. He gave me the most adorable expressions. Thank-you Isaiah. This is proof that it's best to bring me your newborn babies when they are really new. Isaiah was barely a week and still incredibly sleepy. Just the way I like 'em!

My associate Shayna Kerrie and I took a little trip down to Blaine, Washington to shoot this spectacular wedding. Dan and Kelly are not only fun and gorgeous but their family and friends were wonderful to work with too. It was yet another fun filled day and I still have to pinch myself to remember that this is my job!!

We started the day at the family farm. Have I mentioned how much I love farms?! Marie and Joe decided to see each other before the ceremony and here is their first look.

Yes, the groom's people were very cool too! I love that couples aren't sticking to tradition and are mixing wedding parties up. I've seen this a lot lately.

Rain, rain go away! I don't think I've ever had to postpone so many session as this last month. Although we have had the odd good day it seems all my sessions have been booked for rainy ones. I've made good use of the time "off" and cuddled and played with my boys. Here are a few images from the studio (where thankfully, it never rains) and of my kiddos and husband. Enjoy the rain!

This sweet couple are expecting their first child soon and they were glowing the entire session. Aren't they just adorable!?

Here's yet another cutie.

Our family loves hiking and we try and go a few times a month. Here is a photo from the last trip.

There are a lot of things that inspire me to take photographs but nothing quite as perfect as these two pumpkins. My boys Jack and Andy have really become comfortable in front of the camera and continually ham it up for me. I still can not believe I've been blessed with these miracles.

For those of you who know Andy, my oldest, you know he is much more comfortable in nothing but underwear. I compromised and let him have just his shirt off.

Yes, that is blue nail polish....it matched his eyes....what can I say....daddy was away for the weekend.

After the ceremony we drove to another favorite spot of mine, Fort Langley Hall. We enjoyed gorgeous sunshine and a perfect backdrop.

Kara's family owns this beautiful farm and we were ecstatic to take photos at their barn. This shot was actually Kara's idea and I really love it!

The couple, Natalie and myself were all soaked after traipsing through their fields but it was so worth it.

The bride, being full of fabulous ideas, brought this chair for our photo shoot. Loved it! There were more photos posted on the first post of it too.

They are going to make cute babies, eh?!

The reception was held out in Chilliwack and the ladies did a fantastic job decorating the hall.

Did I mention the bridesmaids?? Yay, they rocked.

There was some talent in the crowd! The couple was serenaded on the dance floor.

The rain was falling this Saturday but that sure didn't dampen the spirits of anyone attending the fabulous wedding of Joseph and Kara. We started the day at Trinity Reformed Church in Abbotsford.

There is a reason I do weddings. I cry at almost every one I attend. You know, you get those tears welling up? Just seeing emotion like this, love like this, it gets me. There is something so special about these moments and I'm so lucky to capture them.

This wedding was complete with giggling bridesmaids. So pretty!

Not to mention Kara, who grinned almost the entire time.

This is one of my favorite moments at a wedding, seconds after the ceremony.

...who were hilarious! This was not a posed moment. They had an ipod and worked it to the music.

These two are adorable aren't they?! We had some fun on the railway track while the bells were going off. Thankfully the train never arrived and we didn't have to sprint off the tracks.

Nate is the brother of a grad I photographed a short while ago. His lovely girlfriend is the one graduating this year, and he's her cute prop. ;)

Jason and Courtney - Abbotsford Wedding Photographer

Here I am again with an overwhelming sense of thankfulness. I have been blessed with the best clients! I had the huge pleasure of photographing Courtney and Jason's big day this weekend and ran into seven former wedding couples at the affair. I think that's a record for me. I felt so honored that this amazing group of friends and family continually send each other my way. Needless to say, it was a great day.

Jason is super talented and designed this invitation.

Rifka & Mike Part Two- Abbotsford Wedding Photographer

As usual, I had a great time shooting Rifka and Mike's wedding last week. I am truly blessed to love my work. I had a hard time narrowing down the images I wanted to post. Yet another typical "problem" I have. On with the show....

Oops, it's been a while since I've posted. I've been enjoying a little quiet time with the family and haven't been behind the computer as much as usual. This session was a great way to get back into the swing of things. Warning, this will be an extremely long post. There were five wonderful "models" who participated and we ended up with a lot of photos.

We started off at a funky building I've been driving past for a while now. It has always caught my eye and I was excited to play around with it. The owner of the place ended up being there and was so kind and inviting. Thanks Peter!

As usual, teal buildings are one of my favorite things. This bride and groom are also some of my favorite people to photograph. What a great combination! Thanks Kelly and Dustin.

Next up we have Vanessa. She was a total supermodel and brought both beauty and funkiness to the shoot.

Last but not least we have Chelsea and David, another fabulous and gorgeous couple. Rusty and unusual backgrounds, bring them on!

I have to say, I was expecting a cold and rainy February day complete with mud and muck. Funny thing happened, it was warm and beautiful! I actually had to spend a little time looking for some mud to play in. Here's Vanessa taking a mud bath in our little spot of dirt.

Baby Ben

One of my favorite things to do is visit families, in their homes, when a new baby has arrived. Much like weddings, it is an incredibly happy time in their lives and I am truly honored to be a part of those moments. I had such a visit this morning to meet Ben. He is now three months old and his sparkling blue eyes and chubby cheeks stole my heart.

The sun was shining so Jack and I tried to play outside for a little while. Unfortunately, he's a little sick so it only lasted about 5 minutes. He was looking as cute as ever though.

This weekend I had the honor of photographing Cheryl Wall for a book cover. She is an incredibly talented quilt designer and you can check out here designs here and her book will be coming out in May.

My nieces came for a sleep over this weekend and I took the opportunity to take Alyssa's sixth birthday shots. Of course Samantha was along for the fun too.

These photos show you why you must bring me your newborn in the first two weeks of their arrival. Babies are so much more sleepy and moldable at this age and the photos turn out angelic. It's studio time! Every year at about this time the weather forces us indoors for sessions. Although I usually prefer the versatility of the outdoors, it's nice to switch it up a bit and enjoy the simplicity of my studio. Subjects are front and center for their portraits and it's always toasty warm.

Tracy and her boys aren't strangers to my home and it was great to start off my "studio season" with such a wonderful family. And as you can see by the pictures, her little family is about to grow.

Kira & Travis Engaged

Travis and Kira are a riot! I laughed more at their wedding consultation than any other meeting I think I've had. Needless to say, I was very excited to do their engagement session. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't on our side as much as we hoped. Fortunately, Kira and Travis really know how to roll with the punches. Here are some favorites from our rainy, haily (yes, I just made that word up) and cloudy session.

This is right about when the hail showed up. Big huge chunks of it! We took cover under a rustic gazebo and ironically the light was perfect as well as the breeze blowing Kira's hair. I thought we may have to finish the session there but before we knew it, the storm passed over.

Yes, I made them sit in the hail. To make them feel better I literally rolled around in it too. I'll sacrifice body heat to get a good angle!

By the end of the session, we all looked a little damp. Was it worth it?! I'd say so! Thanks for a great time Kira and Travis!

Courtney & Jason - Engagement

Oh, my job is so fun! I've said it a million times, I know, but I just can't help but feel immensely blessed to work with wonderful people such as Courtney & Jason. Over the years I have photographed countless weddings for Jason's family and he has been a groomsman at two of those weddings. He approached me at a wedding earlier this year and introduced me to his stunning fiancee. Needless to say, I was very excited when they asked me to take part in their big day.

The Ross Family

I have a special place in my heart for this adorable blended family. I've known Angela for just a couple years now, and we've shared a variety of connections. We first met at a ladies group at church, she started a day care and my children attended, I took her little girl's photos and her family photos and now through it all, she is my friend. It's always fun working with them, even if it's a "quick, the light is fading" session after her and her family have already had a busy day. Thanks for squeezing in the time for some portraits. It was worth it! Here are my favorites.

I had a fun and unique engagement session this week. Dan coaches hockey and so we spent some time on the ice! We had a great time and I'm happy to report I didn't even slip. Quite a feat for someone as unbalanced as myself. Here are my favorites.

After the rink we took a drive to Dear Lake Park. The weather was beautiful and we utilized some of the funky buildings in the area.

Emily & James Engagement - Part Two

I had such a fun time with my brother and his lovely lady that I'm posting twice for their engagement session. They kind of gave me free reign on the locations so we got a little edgy/artsy and I loved it. It's sometimes fun to just fly by the seat of your pants and see what happens. We drove around and just stopped at places that looked funky. Here is a black garage door I thought was cool. Just around the corner was a security guard that didn't seem to notice us. It wouldn't have been the first location I was kicked out of!

Next was a location I have been before but I loved it so I wanted to try it again.

Details people. It's all about the details. I can't believe my brother picked out those shoes all by himself. Good taste bro!

And the ring. Wow, again James, you have good taste and I never knew it!

This was just too funny to not post. Don't hate me James, I love this one!

Here is where the session got a little crazy. I noticed the sun was setting but too many buildings were in the way so we had to find an open area, and fast. I drove like a mad woman searching from someplace to get a sunset shot and ended up stopping by the side of the road beside raspberry fields. You can see them in the background. It worked out pretty well I think. There are a couple more on Facebook too.

Last but not least is a photo I captured when it was almost dark. You'd never know it from looking at the picture but just for fun I experimented with some higher ISOs. It is not technically perfect but I so love the mood. Did I mention that the D700 can practically shoot in the dark! Great camera.

Jenn & Jarad - 26.09.09 - Part Two

I finally have a little time to post some more image from my biggest wedding yet. Jenn and Jarad's day was so much fun that Natalie and I stayed till the wee hours of the morning. Needless to say, I have more images than I've ever had. Did I mention that they left about five hours in between the ceremony the reception for photos?! No, we didn't actually use all that time to take pictures (we grabbed lunch and drove around) but we sure made the most of it by visiting a lot of fabulous venues. We started off the photos at Minter Gardens.

I'm all about back lighting right now and I love the romance of this image. It sure wasn't hard to get these two to act sweet in front of the camera. They are so in love.

Adore this one.

After the gardens we headed to a golf course. Jenn and Jarad both love the sport so it was a fantastic way to show their personalities.

After the golf course we visited this fantastic location under a bridge.

Emily & James Engagement - My bro's getting married!

Okay, I'm freaking out here. My little brother, who isn't so little anymore, is getting married! Words can not express my excitement. Surprisingly, they're having me do their photos. Okay, that not that surprising, they get the family discount.

We went out for a little e-shoot adventure last night, and I have to say, they are my best images ever. Okay, maybe not ever, but because I'm so happy for them I really think they are some of my best work. They brought out the best in me and really, I could make them do whatever I wanted. Have I mentioned they're cute, too? Who could ask for anything more.

I can only post a few now but more to come later from a few other totoally different but fabulous locations. On with the show.

I had to post one of my brother being by brother. He did try and make it a little hard for me by making faces. Good thing Emily made up for it!

I can not say enough good things about this amazing wedding and amazing couple. I was so lucky to be a part of it.

Jarad and I go way back to my days as an office manager at Thrifty Car Rental and I remember the first time I met his girlfriend Jenn. I immediately liked her and when I found out she was a hair stylist, I got her to do my hair. When they got engaged they contacted me on Facebook and practically begged me to do their wedding photos. As if I could ever say no to them! Not only are they too cute for words, they are kind, fun and generous. Thanks so much for including us in your day. Here are a few to hold you over !

Jackson's 4th Birthday Session

When I informed my youngest that his birthday was coming up, he informed me that that meant we had to do a photo session. Wow, do I have him trained! We went out for an impromptu session and had a great time, but note the inappropriate foot wear.

As I was about to post these, a month late, I realized I haven't even posted Andy's birthday pictures from last March! That goes to show what a busy year it's been. I'll post those too.

This location I like to call The Tractor Graveyard. As you can see, the kids loved it.

Jack was a little apprehensive at first but once he got comfortable he really had fun pretending to be a farmer. He's even making the tractor noises in this shot.

I love the look of concentration on him. It's so Jack.

Love these two images! I think one may become a canvas.

On the way home from the Tractor Graveyard, I couldn't resist stopping at this field.

I think I would call these their fake smiles, but the picture makes me laugh, so it's a keeper.

Jack prefers his hat backwards and I love it that way too. Too cute.

I just can't help but laugh at these ones too. They are so my boys.

Now a few shots from back in March. As you can tell, I don't really pose my kids for photos, I just give them a little guidance and try and capture them being themselves.

Here's Andy being Andy. I think I told him to stand against the wall but he wanted to sit. Works for me!

Here are some more images from the wonderful wedding of Peter and Marilyn. It was held in Harrison and I'm always excited to shoot at this awe inspiring location. We started off in the gardens at Harrison Hot Springs Resort.

Then we headed for a little walk down the pier or some of us walked anyway. The bride was whisked away by her loving husband who gallantly carried her down the pier so her shoes wouldn't get caught. So sweet.

Dan and Christine celebrated their big day about a week ago and it was extra special for me because the bride and I lived across the street from one another when we were young. I actually babysat her and her sister so it was a real treat to watch her tie the knot.

Love the elegant simplicity of this stunning dress.

Christine looked amazing!

The ceremony was held at a church with very unique lighting. It was almost like a concert and made for some really fun shots.

I loved watching Christine and her dad walk down the aisle. You can see the joy in their faces.

Not to mention Christine and her man Dan. Happy, happy people!

The first thing the couple did as husband and wife was to share communion.

Loved the formal photos. The sky, the location & the cute people. What a day!

It was so cute when Tyler had a little trouble getting Wendy's ring on.

I love shooting at the Abbey in Mission. No matter how many times I go there, there always seems to be another way to capture the beauty.

My lifelong friend Tamara just gave birth to her third beautiful child. I told her long before the baby arrived she would have to bring the little one to the studio. Wendy and Tyler's beautiful wedding took place in Mission, BC and came complete with sunshine, an outrageous wedding party and loads of fun. Here are a few shots of the girls getting ready. More to follow in a week or so.

I love photographing the details. These were all taken with my 60mm Macro lens. It's amazing!

The bride got ready in this beautiful hotel suite. It had great windows that made lighting for pictures fantastic.
